The second book in the series, the second one I've read. I imagine I'll be reading the series in order. It's an immensely enjoyable read - well-written, well-researched, with fleshed out characters who seem real. The historical details are much appreciated, as well (eg, the reference to the Black Cat). The "second" beginning of a fairly addictive series convincingly recreating a period when 'gay' meant joyous and 'LGBT' wasn't part of the vocabulary. The balance between the sitcom content and the plot is good. An easy read one doesn't regret.
I'm just going to say that I love this series and always impatiently wait for the next installment.
The characters in this book became much more defined for me in my head. I could just imagine what Nacho looked like.The setting in Mexico and the internal politics of the day was amazing. I'm already half way through book 3!
This series is definitely a MUST READ!

Loads of action and fun
I can see this series is going to be addicting as I was completely enthralled by the plot and of each character but most all of Nick and Carter’s relationship. Their love is amazing but even more so is their trust and understanding of each other. It is absolutely inspiring.
Love these stories. Lots more to go, which is delicious. Nick is so cool and Carter is to die for. The pages seem to turn themselves. Can't wait to find out what these guys do next. So fun.
I care about these characters after two books. The little historical touches, from sodomy being a felony to Carter reading The Hobbit make the boys seem real. I think I like them best in San Francisco though.
