Fern Michaels writes another winner in the Godmother's series with Deadline. I am working on reading the complete series and I am totally drawn in by each story I read. The Godmother's have a trick up their sleeve, alcohol in their hands and more money than they can possibly spend in this series. All those things added together make for a great mix of fun and adventure. The different personalities of the Godmother's just adds to the fun. Sometimes their arguments can get a little raunchy and foul words and gestures are used. But for me these times just add to the fun and are not done in such a way that they are offensive. This is one of my top favorite series right now, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a good laugh, a little less serious book, but one that is filled with characters that have depth and personalities that you can connect with, and adventures that you enjoy being part of. One of the best reads I've encountered in a long time.Product details

I haven't read this book yet but if it's anything like the first ones I read, I will be excited to read the next one in the series.
This was a loosely tied together group of stories with characters we couldn't possibly care about because we hadn't been introduced to them. Each mini plot was loosely tied together by the character of Toots and her friends who are caricatures of older women and who do séances. Don't waste your time.
I enjoyed the entire Godmother Series. It is about 4 women who have been friends forever. Three of the friends are the Godmothers for the ones Daughter.
These ladies are kind, funny, say what's on their mind and while there is some drama there is also laughter while reading. My sister is currenly reading the series and enjoying it also. Who knows, I might read the series again when I get it back.
Should anyone decide to read the series be sure to read from book one threw the last book.
Toots and her ' gang' have once again entertained us with another tale of love for each other for their family and friends. This was a really good read. Can't wait to read the next Godmother's story.
I need Mavis to come live with me a while. I could Sophie too so she could tell me if I'm ever gonna get it right. I'm giving Toots a run for wedding banquets. I got my 7 the divorce while I was still in my 40's. I'm 51 now and give up but then at times I still want to grow old with someone and these ladies are giving me hope. Though unlike Toots none my husband's had any money......lol
the entire series was the best! I am currently reading book six. I know I will feel I have lost some very good friends when I finish. I feel this series is the best fern michaels yet. the characters seemed so true to life. I could picture myself sitting at the table drinking coffee with them. their conversations were so funny and at times very serious. great job fern!
The Godmothers Series of books are fun reads with likeable characters. If you like books that don't keep you up at night while you ponder the plot or mystery of the book, then this series is easy on your bedtime dreams! My personal opinion is that it is best to read these Godmother books in the order they are published so that you can follow the characters better. Each book does briefly re-set the stage, but I don't feel as much a part of the plot by jumping into the middle. I mistakenly did that recently by reading the first, then the third. When I picked up the second, which I did have waiting on hand but erroneously picked up the Third installment instead, I realized that I already knew the story of Book #2 from having read the recap in the third book. So if that sort of thing bothers you too, try to pick up the books in order of publication. They are not difficult to read. As I said, a fun and easy read ....
